Marion was a high school teacher before training as a lawyer.

Marion has been in practice as a barrister and solicitor since 1978. Marion has specialized in family law for over 30 years, in particular acting for clients in relationship property matters and cases relating to children. During that time her work has included representing children in the Family Court.

Marion first trained as a mediator in the 1990s, drawing on that training in her role as lawyer for children to achieve negotiated outcomes promoting the welfare and best interests of children. Marion was accredited to the Law Society panel of mediators as a family specialist in 2012 and has since been mediating family disputes relating to the Care of Children in her role as counsel to assist the Court. Marion is an accredited Family Dispute Resolution mediator.
